Local Attractions
Cedar Park Inn & Whirlpool Suites offers a variety of attractions to its visitors. These attractions reflect the area’s unique blend of culture, history, and recreational opportunities.
Mystic Seaport
Founded in 1929, it spans 19 acres along the Mystic River and features a recreated 19th-century coastal village with more than 60 restored historic buildings. Visitors can explore four National Historic Landmark vessels, including the Charles W. Morgan, the last surviving wooden whaleship in the world. The museum also houses over two million artifacts, immersive exhibits on shipbuilding and sailing traditions, and opportunities to experience life in the Great Age of Sail.

Mystic Aquarium
It is home to over 10,000 animals, including the only beluga whales in the region and one of only two U.S. facilities housing Steller sea lions. Visitors can explore exhibits such as the largest outdoor beluga whale habitat in the country, interactive ray and shark touch pools, an African penguin colony, and immersive displays like Dino Seas. Beyond entertainment, the aquarium is dedicated to marine research, conservation, and education.
Olde Mistick Village
It features more than 40 specialty shops, restaurants, and services, all set along picturesque walkways with gardens, duck ponds, and a town green. Visitors can browse unique items ranging from clothing and jewelry to local crafts, gourmet foods, and souvenirs, while also enjoying dining options and even a multi-theater cinema.

Misquamicut Beach
Stretching along a half-mile of sandy shoreline, it offers visitors a spacious beach with gentle surf, modern facilities, concessions, playgrounds, and shaded gazebos. The beach is part of a larger 3-mile barrier island that separates Winnapaug Pond from the Atlantic Ocean, making it ideal for swimming, sunbathing, and family outings.
